Roberto Firmino has had plenty to celebrate this week after Liverpool’s success over Manchester City in the Champions League, but on Wednesday he was fully focused on something even more important in his eyes: his mother’s birthday.
The striker was seen leaving restaurant Bem Brasil at 4am on Thursday morning after hiring out an event space to enjoy the special occasion with a host of family and friends.
His wife Larissa Parreria was also present along with Liverpool midfielder Allan de Souza, who is back on Merseyside after suffering an arm injury whilst on loan with Cypriot club Apollon Limassol.
The venue in question is a traditional Brazilian barbecue restaurant, where a number of different meats are served ‘churrasco style’ on a constant basis until the diners have had enough. This unlimited feast is priced at £27.95 per person.
It would have provided a fitting taste of home for Firmino’s clan but also served as the perfect venue to celebrate what has been a very special week for the Liverpool star.
Firmino scored the winning goal at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night to seal a 5-1 aggregate win over Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals. It means Liverpool are the last remaining English club in the European competition.
Even though Mohamed Salah has taken most of the plaudits at Liverpool this season, BT Sport pundit Frank Lampard was keen to wax lyrical about Firmino in the aftermath of another special performance.
‘Firmino was incredible in that second half,’ Lampard told BT Sport.
‘Everything that came to him stuck. He’s so aware of what’s around him. He’s strong, he holds the ball up, and he got a well-deserved goal.’
Liverpool are back in action on Saturday as they host Bournemouth in a Premier League clash at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp’s sights will be firmly set on ensuring they finish as high as possible with fourth-placed Tottenham hot on their tails.
