Electorates have hailed the accreditation process as voting have commencedin earnest in most polling units across Edo State. At Idia College, Iyaro, voting commenced before 12 noon. Voters were seen conducting themselves orderly patiently waiting to cast their votes.
The situation is the same at Olua Primary school, Uselu, Benin city, where voting is in progress and in an orderly manner. There were however complains of names not being in the register by some voters especially in Oredo Local Government. In Akoko Edo Local Government, accreditation started very late due to protests by NYSC members that they were yet to be paid by INEC. At a polling unit in Owan East Local Government, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere cried foul when he said that the number on the voter register was reduced from over 300 to a little over a hundred. However, the places where voting have started is still ongoing and very peaceful.
