The aftermath of the january petrol subsidy removal by federal government was not so pleasing brouhaha, resulting in the House of Representatives probe of the petroleum industry. The Farouk Lawan’s c’ttee opened a can of worms indicting both public and private institutions. They include the NNPC, PPPRA, DPR, OAGF. Akintola Williams and company and Adekanola and company has already has already gotten red card. Now that president Jonathan has directed the AG and minister of justice Bello Adoke SAN to prosecute all those found culpable and the minister’s promise to promptly forward the report to EFCC for thorough investigation, the NLC, SNG, Civil society organizations, and indeed, all Nigerians should turn their floodlight on both the minister and EFCC to ensure that the right thing is done. Peoples right, due diligence and rule of law should be observed but, it should not mean the death or undue doctoring of the report. For once, let the right thing be done.
