The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has finally suspended their seven weeks strike.
The body through it official twitter handle @nmanigerin announced the suspension of the strike.
“BREAKING!!! NMA rose from an Emergency Delegates Meeting and decided that the #NMAStrike be suspended with ALL Doctors resuming duties ISQ.
” This means that NO Doctor in the country would be victimised in whatever form as a result of participation in the #NMAStrike. Details later, “the association announced early Sunday morning.
According to Esohe Blessing, who said the strike was suspended following the outcome of the voting by members. Total of 265 vote cast, 199 voted for suspension and 66 voted against.
Meanwhile, there will be a press conference today (Sunday) August 24, to announce the suspension of the strike.
