There is a serious controversy today in Edo state House Of Assembly, after the deputy Speaker, Festus Ebea and three other lawmakers who were suspended earlier on Monday, effected the suspension of the speaker, Hon Uyi Igbe, Majority Leader and six others.
The four suspended members and five others had this morning broken through the entrance of the chambers, moved and adopted a motion for the suspension of the speaker, Majority Leader and six others, in the absence of the mace.
Hmm, following the twist, a confrontation erupted between security agencies and some thugs, who tried to gain access into the Assembly Complex, with clear sounds of gunshots and teargas.
Earlier a group of PDP supporters had stormed the Nigerian Union of Journalist Press Centre in Benin to protest the suspension of the four legislators
The group who alleged the suspension of the lawmakers was an infringement on their constitutional rights.
There is heavy security presence including the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, SSS and police are currently in the premises of the Edo state house of Assembly complex.
