Ebola Virus Scare Hits Delta Community



 

Residents of Oghara community in Ethiope West LGA of Delta state, Nigeria, were at the last weekend thrown into panic following the rumoured outbreak of Ebola virus.

 
It was also rumoured that an Ebola virus patient was admitted in a private hospital in the area.

 
It was also reported that the doctor of the hospital, while attending to some patients, said he noticed symptoms that were similar to that of Ebola in a patient, who he said came from Lagos. The doctor was said to have alerted the Ministry Of Health officials in Asaba, who responded immediately.

Meanwhile Dr. Ofili, who is the state epidemiologist, said the news of the suspected Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Oghara, is not true. He added that nobody has tested positive to the EVD.
