Healthy Hair, Healthy Hair

Recent studies have linked a woman’s hair to her reproductive ability. According to the research, the state of a woman’s hair is a reflection of her potential for reproduction. Lush, silky and shiny hair says I have good reproductive ability.

Ladies, take care of your hair. Avoid hairstyles that put pressure on your hairline, it breaks your hair. Stick to a kitted relaxer with a neutralizing shampoo and a leave-in conditioner. Frequent change of relaxers discolours the hair. I am sure you don’t want to give a wrong impression of barrenness.

If you are a teenage Brandy or a Cleopatra, cut down on the braids, especially needle or million braids, they take their toll on your hair with time. Watch your food intake. The state of your hair and skin has a lot to do with your diet. Make healthy choices such as fruits and vegetables.

Don’t over-process your hair with chemicals. Avoid using harsh chemicals on your hair too often. It weakens your hair. Never retouch and colour your hair on the same day. Give at least two months between touch-ups.

Do away with the weave-ons, braids, wigs and style your natural hair, sometimes. This might sound atavistic but your hair needs some time to breathe.  You will find that there are many amazingly gorgeous styles you can don on your natural hair using hair straightener, roller set, hair gel, styling mousse and others. Your natural hair also takes off some of your years.

Wear your hair down. It lets people see how long and silky your hair really is. It breaks my heart to see healthy, beautiful hair confined in a bun or hidden under weave-ons or wigs. You know what they say, if you’ve got it, then flaunt it and if you flaunt it, then they will want it. Flaunt it and let the world know you are a woman indeed.

Gents, pay more attention to your girl’s hair. What do you see when the wigs have been tossed aside. It’s okay if her natural hair was healthy before chemicals and elaborate hairstyles damaged it. But be careful, that can also speak of negligence or a carefree attitude.
