Police Take Over Emir Of Kano’s Palace, As Protests Escalate



The Police yesterday took over the Emir’s Palace, following the continuation of the protest that greeted the announcement of the former CBN governor, Sanisi Lamido Sanusi as the new Emir of Kano State.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) which is the ruling party in the state has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of inciting voilence in an attempt to destabilise the state. The pary also urged the Kano State Arttoney-General to prosecute all PDP officials allegedly involved in the act. Meanwhile the PDP, yesterday congratulated Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the new Emir of Kano.
