Quarantined OAU Student Ebola Negative – Officials Says

The Obafemi Awolowo University Student, who was quarantined, has tested negative to Ebola Virus Disease.

Mr Dan Nwoweh, the spokesperson of the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, in a tweet said the minister confirmed that the student had tested negative to Ebola Virus disease.
The student was quarantined after confessing he had contact with the Port Harcourt doctor, Iyke Enemuo, who treated ECOWAS Official in and hotel in Port Harcourt.
The student had a contact with the Port Harcourt doctor during a naming ceremony.
Mr Dan added that a South African woman, suspected to have the virus also tested negative. He, however, said the woman is presently under investigation of other diseases.

He also reaffirmed that there is no confirmed Ebola case in Nigeria at the moment.
