English Premier League followers around the world will be served with a lot of fixtures this weekend. The Merseyside derby, a London derby and the top of the table clash between Chelsea and Manchester united at the Stamford Bridge.
The Red Devils, basking from their 3-2 comeback win over Braga FC of Portugal in the Champions League, will be looking forward to continue their wonderful run against the Blues of London. Manchester United has not lost to Chelsea in their last 5 meetings, winning 4 and drawing 1.
Chelsea, on the other hand, will look to continue their impressive Premier League run. They top the table after 8 games with 22 points, drawing only to QPR at Loftus Road. Their 2-1 lost at Donestk to Shaktar in the Champions League might dampen their morale but the super form of Juan Mata and Oscar is likely to see them through.
Chelsea Captain, John Terry, is banned from this game thanks to racism and the flying Dutchman, Robin Van Pierse would relish the opportunity of putting goals past Cech. The last time he was at the bridge, he scored a hat trick in Arsenal’s 5-3 win last season. He has scored more times against Chelsea than any other player in the Premier League.
Manchester United has conceded 11 goals in the league and has been characterized by comebacks after going down by a goal or two. Their defence looks shaky and Chelsea would look to exploit. Chelsea has conceded the least goals this season in the league, joint with Arsenal with 6 goals, while the trio of RVP, Rooney and Welbeck is a force to fear with Hernandez on the bench.
Would the Red devils dismantle the bridge or would the Blues disunite Manchester United? Don’t forget the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton and the London derby between Arsenal and whipping boys QPR.
