Interestingly, Osun is the state with the least allocation in Nigeria with a paltry sum of N19.6 Billion Naira about 14% of what an Oil-rich state, Akwa Ibom, takes home.
I think the main thing here is not what or who takes home, but how well have this allocations been beneficial to the citizens of each state. And that is where i think the Poverty Reduction Index for the Federation comes in to play.
According to the Statistician-General of the Federation/Chief Executive Officer of, National Bureau of Statistics, Dr. Y. Kale, who revealed that Osun is the state with the least Poverty rate in Nigeria.
Just measure the development in your state and compare it with the allocation received from January to June 2014.
