A road has been named after Nigeria’s First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan. The road links Defence Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA) office with the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Barracks, in Abuja. At the commissioning ceremony, of the road which was built by the association, Dame Jonathan said that private sector organisations’ cooperation was central to achieving the aims of the Transformation Agenda of her husband. She said that the road would serve the interest of members of DEPOWA, the barracks community and other road users. In her words“I encourage all associations to emulate the good example of DEPOWA and to contribute their quota to the development of our dear nation”.
