Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Student Take Over Abuja/Benin Expressway In Owo To Protest Increase In Tuition Fee



Students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Ondo state in the early hours of today, Monday, July 7, took over the Owo/Benin/Abuja expressway to protest the current hike in their tuition fees.

 
The Management of the Polytechnic recently increased the annual schools fees of students of National Diploma Sciences from N21,300 to N58,300 and the ND student from N53,800 to N73,000. A levy of N20,000 was also imposed on the non-indegenes students in the school.

The aggrieved students locked up the office of the rector, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun and then took over the express road.
