Benue State chapter os SURE-P has selected 3,000 unemployed persons from 23 LGA in the state to participate in community service scheme
Those recruited according to Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) would be paid N10,000 monthly stipends for rendering various services to their community or Local Government Area
They did a biometri data capturing exercise for the candidate at the 2 days orientation held in the three senatorial zones of the state. Samuel Utoo, the state chairman of SURE-P said President Jonathan has mandated the state to employ 3,000 unemployed persons for the first batch of the scheme. The Scheme is targeted to providing jobs to 10,000 Benue State people.
Utoo warned those selected for the programme not to see the N10,000 monthly stipend as a free money that they would be deployed to render community orientation services, such as maintenance of community infrastrutures like health care Centres, drainages, markets, and vigilance group etc.
I think the SURE-P is working, or what do you think?
