Wow!! What a weekend of good footballing action, glad the International break is over Whew!!!

Just that it came and went with injury worries to some teams; the biggest affected being Real Madrid with their Central Defenders hit at the same time!! Marcelo and Coentrao.  Anyway let’s have a rundown of what went on during the Weekend.
The EPL was Drama filled as usual the Tottenham vs Chelsea game was a real spectacle with Chelsea leading 1-0 at half time thanks to a fantastic goal by Gary Cahill, only to be level after a minute played in the 2nd half and 2-1 down by the 55th minute. All Chelsea fans were definitely feeling down at that moment and while AVB was gloating and feeling cool Chelsea finally came back thanks to 2 goals by Juan Mata and a final sealer by Daniel Sturridge in extra time.

Chelsea wasn’t the only team that had to come back. A 10-man Manchester City had to come back also thanks to the wonderful goal poaching skills by Edin Dzeko (Torres should go for lessons from him), now that’s what you call a super sub. Vincent Kompany even tweeted about him “The big man @EdDzeko proved his worth again! We showed a lot of spirit after going down to 10 men. Great performance! Great support! #MCFC” The other matches went on as usual Man U won their match against Stoke, Rooney opened the score sheet and RVP showing his brilliance as expected (Wenger must really be regretting now) as Arsenal lost to 1-0 to Norwich, while QPR had another draw of this season, seems like that’s all they can get for now, though the 10 – man Everton tried by getting a point out of the match.

Other leagues had exciting matches in the German Bundesliga, we had Dortmond falling to Schalke 04 which led to a huge fight as Police had to intervene. Meanwhile in the Italian Serie A Juventus defeated Napoli 2-0 to end their unbeaten run and maintain their spot as League Leaders. And in the Laliga, the usual suspects won Real Madrid and Barcelona, while Madrid showed a lack of interest in their match, Barcelona put everything into their match as they ended up 10-men and won by 5 goals to 4 against Deportivo La Coruna. As always Valdes proved to be less of a goalie as he allowed a ball slip in which he could have easily stopped.

The Mother of all Leagues resumes 23rd and 24th of October, 2012, the UEFA Champions League as Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, City, Barcelona and Real Madrid will all be showing the stuffs they are made of. I wonder how Madrid will cope without their normal centre backs. We would all be looking at what Arsenal can do against Schalke 04 and the star match would be Borussia Dortmond vs Real Madrid, the Group of Death would definitely have some action coming up this Wednesday. My personal advice; just sit back, relax and watch the wonderful fixtures in the Champions League, cause you are definitely going to be watching the best.
